Why does my app crash when I remove android:theme=”@style/Theme.MeshRenderer” from AndroidManifest.xml?

The app appears to be running in Android Studio, but it doesn’t render on my phone. I tried looking up how themes work, but I couldn’t find any reason why removing themes would crash the app.

I want to display a single blank view in my app. I can’t do this because the theme adds an actionbar.
