Why “OOP” and not simply “Object Programming”?
Why do we say “Object-oriented programming” and not simply “Object programming”? Why do we speak of orientation in just this case, and not “Functionally-oriented programming” and so?

In OOP, what counts as a “getter”
Note: I’m not looking for opinions on whether the authors of the article below are right or wrong. Mainly I’m looking for the exact definition of what they mean by getters, especially since I know some of the authors post here.
