If I choose “Open File” in VS Code on macOS, but want to choose a file within a sub-folder, I naturally highlight the folder and hit return, or possibly click the [open] button.

So, yesterday a notification appeared while I was coding about adding a helper tool related to an update. I ended up installing it, and it worked normally. Today, when I turned on the computer again, my VS Code doesn’t open; it loads and closes on its own. I have already restarted the computer, uninstalled VS Code, and downloaded it again, but nothing worked. What should I do? My version is macOS Catalina 10.15.7.

Now when I click the app icon nothing happens. The little dot below the app pops up for one second indicating the app is open and then immediately disappears.
