Well, I met with my first client and they are requesting a relatively simple, custom system that (without being long winded) tracks client’s paperwork as it progresses through the business’s different manual processes.

Get Info From Database, or Build Inferred Info?
Does it make more sense to store and retrieve properties or information directly related to an item in a database, or, say in such a case that a product’s ID could describe information about it, should the information be gathered from that?
Architecture for a system where users want to use Excel for collecting and merging data
My organization handles batches of stuff that need to be checked by Quality Control. What I need is something for the people who work in Quality Control to be able to register and input data inside the laboratory, they will be walking so we thought that tablets with an excel would work pretty well but we ran into the problem of file merging and losing data.
