It seems there are numerous alternative “pytorch” packages spread across the defaults, conda-forge, and pytorch channels. And sometimes when I install the wrong pytorch package it won’t necessarily have GPU support…

I cant run Anaconda

I could until very recently run anaconda-navigator from the command line in ubuntu. Suddenly I can’t anymore. Following some posts in overleaf and elsewhere, I inserted
source ~/anaconda3/bin/activate root in .bashrc. This did not improve anything. I then removed anaconda and reinstalled it again. I had to install, given error messages, libffi and PyQt5. I also set the path to anaconda in .bashrc. What I get now as error while trying to run from the command line by typing in anaconda-navigator, is the following:
